Lesson Plans Energy & Carbon in Wood
Participants choose one lesson to try during the course, which they can also implement with youth.
"How Much Carbon is in a Tree?" lesson involves measuring the circumference of a tree and entering that data in a spreadsheet to determine the amount of carbon in that tree. It is dependent on tree species. The GLOBE Observer Tree App is a companion to this lesson.
OR
"Energy in Firewood" lesson involves burning matches, toothpicks or skewer sticks of wood and measure the temperature change of water in a home made set up.
